Back in the days of 2.4.3-22mdk, I successfully built 1 (one) new
kernel. Multiple additional tries (because I wanted the latest aic7xxx and
Sangoma WANPIPE drivers) were all failures. Either they'd fail to find the
root drive or Apache startup would complain:

         "httpd-perl: Ouch! ap_mm_create(1048576, "/var/apache-mm/mm.999")
failed

Finally I tried 2.4.4, which needed the aic7xxx driver and includes the
WANPIPE. The build worked perfectly and I've been running for 10 days, 5
hours, and a bit.

My experience with 2.4.4 has been as good as my experience with 2.4.3 was bad.
