VMware has new beta release (2.0.4) that natively suports 2.4.x kernel. It
installs OOTB on Mdk8; on cooker I had to compile vmware module that was
O.K. as well.
OTOH I was disappointed (not by VMware bu by Windows, surprise, surprise
...) I expected to get dual boot (both native and vmware). It turned out
to be a nigtmare. First, WinME does not automatically selects hardware
profile (even when *everything* is different :-) Obviously, it is intended
for notebooks only and checks only presence of docking unit. And with
hardware profiles every time booting natively I got a message that my
display driver does not work properly ... (nVidia driver, 6.50). It may be
a probem of nVidia, but still ...
