I am trying to install Mandrake 8 on a Dell Precision 420 machine
with dual GHz Pentium III processors I just purchased. The machine
comes with a 3Com 3c905C ethernet card on the motherboard. It also
has a NVIDIA AGP card and a sound blaster live card. When I boot off
of floppy it gives me an error message

Warning that installation of driver failed. (please include msg from
<Alt-F3> for bugreports).

When I switch to Alt-F3 it says:

* PCI: device 10b7 9200 is "3Com Corporation|3c905C-TX [Fast Etherlink]" (3c59x)
* Found  3Com Corporation|3c905C-TX [Fast Etherlink]
* have to insmod 3c59x
* needs 3c59x
*       succeeded 3c59x
* NET: alias eth0 3c59x
* PCI: device 1011 24 is "DEC|DECchip 21152" (tulip)
* Found DEC|DECchip 21152
* have to insmod tulip
* needs tulip
* init_module: tulip: No such device
*       failed
* warning, insmod failed (tulip(null)) (1)
* NET: was expecting another network interface (broken net module?)

I tried to switch to Alt-F2 and use lspci to try to determine what it
was detecting but F2 doesn't seem to be available until the second stage
of the installation process.

I can't seem to figure what is causing it to detect the DECchip 21152
card? It only has the single 3c905C card.

Is anyone else seeing this problem?

Thanks,

- Gary Brack
