What I've discovered: when I boot in runlevel 3, run X with 'startx' - opengl and tuxracer works ok,
in runlevel 5 - gears works, tuxracer segfaults and breaks opengl until X reload.
Test this please...

I have the same problem with tuxracer.  I get a segmentation faults if I do start the tuxracer.
