Wow! The pblms I had with my cablemodem being activated at boot are gone.
In fact all of the errata I reported in my last cooker-install feedback seem 
to have disappeared! 
Install log indicates a pblm with perl (setting locale failed) occurs after 
vim-advanced-6... is installed.
FWIW after <5 minutes X crashed. While writing this!
