This make me thinks of technique used by Ron Stodden in its mirroring script
: instead of downloading completly packages which differs only by release
version, it uses rsync instead for its automatic inline patching facility.
Altough i never understood the magic of rsync (how to compute the differences
between two files without downloading them ?), and never had a look at urpmi,
maybe this could be used also here ? Maybe just as a prefered technique if
available (as rsync needs to be usable at server's side) over ftp, or as a
new media type ?
