I think that maybe this deserves some consideration. Replies to this e-mail
would suggest that Mandrake doesn't want to 'get into bed' with AOL. However,
if I were in a position to do so I would be pushing Linux right under the
noses of AOL - big time !! If they switch to Netscape 6.nn / Mozilla then
maybe they might also consider opening up, or at the very least releasing the
binaries, for the proprietary protocols to run under Linux (presumably they
are going to do this for Mac OsX anyway ?). Love 'em or loath them, if AOL
became platform agnostic it would, in my opinion !, give enormous credence to
Linux. What was the name of the AOL Linux client that never saw the light of
day, Gamera or some such ? Maybe it might make a reappearance. Maybe I'm
short sighted, but I fear M$ a heck of a lot more than AOL !
(If I'm completely out of date and AOL can be accessed from Linux then
'sorry' !!!)
