Hi,
I'm working on some kernel drivers; I've been using mandrake 7.2 for a
while getting 2.2
versions working. I patched the 7.2 kernel with the 2.2.6 version of
kgdb for debugging
purposes. Everything was great until I bought 8.0 and tried to patch it
against 2.4.3 kgdb.
I fixed all the problems I could find when applying the patch, but ran
into some unresolved
symbols. I eventually got things going by using a straight 2.4.5 release
off of kernel.org,
but I'd rather work with a straight mandrake kernel.
I figure *someone* must have already got a working patch. Am I right? I
didn't see a patch
in the distribution I bought (power pack). Can someone please point me
to a patch that
works with the 8.0 kernel, or explain to me why this is a terrible idea?
Any help would
be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-Tom
P.S. I sent a query into Mandrake Expert, and to kgdb.sourceforge.org,
but no response yet.
