I don't think that's a good idea, because even under KDE it starts up the
gnome panel which is annoying. I don't remember seeing an option in the
client to turn it off. I'd rather see an option to a) turn it on only if
running under gnome, or b) to turn it on always. Maybe someone feels like
adding that before enbling the panel support?
