this isn't true. If you don't need swap, you don't need to increase it. The real
rule of thumb is: if you go along nicely with X amount of swap in 2.2, then you
need 2 times more for 2.4

The rule of thumb 2x the amount of RAM is a real crude rule that doesn't take
into account the kind of use. It is mainly thought for a server. On a desktop
swapping is usually bad news and you don't need much (eg: if you reach 100MB of
real swap used on a 128MB RAM desktop, your box is slow as hell).
