Hi all!
I'm not working these days so I can finally test my favourite Linux
distribution! ;o)
1.
First of all, I found all is very stable and working, let me say... much more
working than 8.0!!! I just could not find some files:
xloadimage --> needed by xfce
libbdf --> needed by binutils --> needed by gcc !!!
Maybe it happens for these files where missing on the mirror that I use at
the moment of my /cooker upgrade, so nevermind in that case.
2.
Linuxconf has some problems: during installation if stops the process for
about 6-8 minuts complaing "missing something in shared libs", as you can see
on console #2
3.
My onboard UATA-100 Raid controller (Promise FastTrack) is finally recognized
by latest kernel in hd.img, but it happens something strange...
3.a) Installation goes on if no disk are attached to any UATA controller
(nor Primary nor Secondary, I mean)
3.b) Installation STOPS (with no messages or warnings) if I attack an
hard-drive on UATA controller. It stops always but in one case: if the drive
is on Secondary Master position... (it just happened that kernel 2.4.3 had
the same behaviuor but the only allowed position was Primary Master in that
case...)
So I actually use hda+hdg drive for my raid, one is ata-66, other one is
ata-100, it works but anyway I'd like to use full ata-100 if someone has a
solutions about that problem.
By the way, I wrote to Promise (as someone suggested lately) asking for tech.
data for developers. I send a personal e-mail before a massive attack ;o)
Thanks a lot!
