Could anyone tell me why there appears to be two distinct
binary directories in the contrib tree on ftp.sunet.se?
contrib/
- RPMS/
- SRPMS/
- i586/
- others/
I expected that RPMS would be a symlink to i586, or the
other way around. Instead, they have almost identical
files.. although there's a few minute differences, files
that are in one but not the other.
Since I mirror contrib, I'm actually now mirroring many
of the same files twice. As anyone else that does this
knows, contrib binaries have already surpassed the size
of a CD, so mirroring them twice is a huge waste of
space.
Could someone look into getting this fixed? It's been
like this for quite some time, and I just felt like
complaining about it today. =P
I took a look at a couple other mirrors, sunsite.uio.no
and rpmfind.net.. they both have a symlink. Why should
ftp.sunet.se be treated differently?
