Hi, all!
I'm using rpm-4.0.3-0.15mdk. Since yesterday, I cannot install any rpm
packages anymore. The last thing I installed was talk{,-server}.
Running rpm thru strace, I see that it hangs at:
1915 select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {1, 0}) = 0 (Timeout)
Now, I'm no expert, so this doesn't tell me a thing... But this message
is repeated over and over again in the strace output.

How can I repair rpm so that it works again?
Oh, rpm -q's (still?) work. rpm -e's also kinda work:
[root@teich RPMS-COOKER]# rpm -e talk
error: db3 error(-30998) from db->close: DB_INCOMPLETE: Cache flush was
unable to complete
error: db3 error(-30986) from db->verify: DB_VERIFY_BAD: Database
verification failed
