Hi,

I don't really know what happened, but I cannot start X anymore on my
laptop.

When I start XFree86, I only get a black screen and the keyboard is dead.
The pc is still running since I can reset it from an other machine through
ssh.

By the way, even if I kill all the X processes, I can never recover the
console or the keybord. What would be the proper way to get back to the
console instead of forcing a reboot?

When I look at the X log, it stops after initializing the mouse. On the
other machines, it goes on with the lines:

SetKbdSettings - type: 2 rate: 30 delay: 250 snumlk: 0
SetKbdSettings - Succeeded

Anyone would know why this SetKbdSettings would stop working?

Here's what I have in XF86Config:
Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Keyboard1"
    Driver      "Keyboard"
    Option "AutoRepeat"  "250 30"
    Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
    Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
    Option "XkbLayout" "us"
EndSection

$ cat /etc/sysconfig/keyboard
KEYTABLE=us

Any idea would be welcome. Thanks in advance,
