Hi!
I just upgraded XEmacs from xemacs-21.4.3-4mdk to xemacs-21.4.3-5mdk. I
also have xemacs-info-4mdk and xemacs-extras-4mdk installed.
So I ran: "urpmi xemacs". This ONLY upgraded the xemacs package, and
NOT the info and extras subpackages. IMHO, this *should* never happen,
but it happens WAY too often.
The fix is actually rather simple. All that has to be taken care of, is
that each subpackage not only requires the version the main package (ie.
Requires: xemacs = %{VERSION}
), but rather the full version string including the release (ie.
Requires: xemacs = %{VERSION}-%{RELEASE}
).
I'd also suggest to update rpmlint so that it checks that subpackages do
so - or are there reasons why this should NOT be done?
