This is a weird one. I have never seen anything like this, and I've built most of the Mandrake packages once or twice on this dual CPU machine (Dell PowerEdge 1400). Now, when trying to build gnome-python-1.4.1-5mdk, I get the following: ...etc... glade_get_widget_tree: filtered out source='gtkmodule.c' object='gtkmodule.lo' libtool=yes \ depfile='.deps/gtkmodule.Plo' tmpdepfile='.deps/gtkmodule.TPlo' \ depmode=gcc3 /bin/sh ./../depcomp \ /bin/sh ./libtool --mode=compile gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I/usr/include/python2.1 -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 -I/usr/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -D_REENTRANT -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 -I/usr/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/include/gnome-xml -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 -I/usr/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/include/gtk-1.2 -I/usr/include/glib-1.2 -I/usr/lib/glib/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -O2 -march=i686 -c -o gtkmodule.lo `test -f gtkmodule.c || echo './'`gtkmodule.c Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed Waiting for -MP.o.lock to be removed ...forever... Nothing else is running/compiling. I have tried this several times, always the same. I am using gcc-2.96-0.58mdk and libtool-1.4-6mdk and have gnome-libs-devel-1.2.13-1mdk (if that's at all relevant). What else should I check? I guess I can built this on a uniprocessor, if that works (can't imagine that having any -MP.o.lock?), but this shouldn't happen. Suggestions? Anyone else see that? Anything you want me to check? p.s. I even rebooted (though I hate to do that) to check/clean conditions. Nope, still loops forever Waiting on the lock. -- Juhan Leemet Logicognosis, Inc.
