Also, the JavaScript that shows users logged in only works in IE. I know
I just said this, but when someone said that it worked in Mozilla, they
seemed to ignore this fact. Really, I should be able to use lynx with it
if I wanted too, because this is Linux after all. BTW, since libjs came
out maybe someone will one day patch lynx to understand javascript
(though this has to be a pain if it can't create windows it would
probably take you to another screen).
Also, replies are limited to 2048 characters but it doesn't restrict me
to this limit and I find out later when I have already submitted the
form. There's no easy way to do this though, except run it through
something first and warn the user that it's too big. However, it will
let you post more than once, so why even set a limit on the size?
I also can't seem to login as an expert. I click "Profile" and that
brings up some boxes where I can login. There's no screen that atkes me
to "expert" even though I can bookmark the URL for it.
User's should also be able to rate every reply. You spent the time to
type it up, so why not receive a rating? If you don't it's basically
like first come first serve, yes you get 10 points for replying, but if
the first post solved a user's problem, he is likely to just choose this
as "best overall." However, the post may not have worked, but you can't
see other's replies, so you have no way of knowing and may just be
typing to waste some time -- kinda like I'm doing now I guess :)
