But just as a datapoint: this problem goes way back before I ever built my own XFree86 packages. The first time I had to rebuild a new one was with XFree86 7mdk and only because the Matrox supplied mga driver and hal lib were not working with XFree86 7mdk. b. -- Brian J. Murrell
