Yes. reiser was not in the past very pretty at all, but indeed supported.
Ext3 kernel patches have been around long long time, just not in a mdk package.
no jfs for 2.2, not now, not little later. early patches gonna be nasty nasty.
XFS and 2.2? hah. Well, sit back.
Best bet is reiser, but be very consistent the way you handle things (like 2.2 install
boot kernel to match that of use, and never manip the 22 reis with a 24 set (inc
progs)).
Then again, you could always use RH kernel packs for long ago ext3 that was no in mdk.
Much stabler than old reiser, if you can get it up.
