fresh install and reformated all drives..
1) install halted because linuxconf was looking for a file something
/redhat/redhat.so.?? had to go to console 1 and hit enter a couple of
times for install to continue.
2) could not build kde because configure could not compile a valid executable
c++ program.
3) selected KDE as default window manager, then on the login screen it gave
me 3 choices.
a) previous - was KDE but would never bring up a screen, KDE was useless
on this build of cooker
b) KDE2 - brought up icewm ???
c) failsafe - never tried this one..
no gnome even though I installed it completely.
4) could not get RPM to work at all, I could do commands like
RPM --version : worked
RPM --rebuilddb : would just sit there and do nothing.
could not install anything using RPM.
5) my Plexwriter 8/4/32A would not work, machine hangs on mount of CD in
that drive although cdrecord --scanbus works fine. once you try to
access the drive machine hangs, have to hard reboot out.
