I knew I wasn't the only one experiencing this problem.  The only answer
I've gotten is that Mandrake's waiting for the gnorpm and kpackage
developers to get their software up to specs for the new RPM version. 
(I may be mistaken and correction or confirmation would be appreciated.)
If this is a problem with the actual software in question and not just a
problem during the compilation/packaging, I'd like to know so I can stop
bringing it up every time I install a new KDE, Gnome, or RPM package.
