Well I think the task of building scripts to automatize the
configuration of scanners would be quite time-consuming, but I tried to
configure my Plustek parallel scanner yesterday and it failed for some
prehistoric reason ("depmod -a" returned with an error and since it was
late, I stopped). I guess doing a "ScanDrake" application would be the
same kind of work than for printers: lots of different drivers and
various things to configure, but that would help LM to stay over the
other distros for the ease of configurability.
