[Cooker] drakprofile

Anyone using drakprofile with success ?
Altough a good idea, i find it cumbersome (it uses linuxconf, errrgh), 
inefficient (it saves everything in /etc), and not working (error message 
"could not activate xxx profile"). As author is RedHog, who seems to be 
actually MIA, i guess it won't be maintained anymore...
Anyone know of any other solution for switching network context easily with 
laptops ?
