My situation may be related or 'someting completely different'.

On 2 systems, 1 with an Asus A7V mobo and the other an Abit K7.
Both mobos use the VIA VT82C586B PCI to USB controller and on both
systems the graphics card shares an IRQ with USB.
When using X4.0.3 this caused no problem but since upgrading to X4.1.0
during boot usbd is started normally but then at New Hadware detection
usbd is terminated and all connected devices are lost.

I must then manually restart usbd from the console.
This then will reactivate detection of my Zip, joystick, and mouse
but I still have to run mousedrake to set the the mouse as usb wheelmouse
for it to be usable.

If I disable kudzu the Zip and js make it through boot without problem
but I still must use mousedrake to properly set the mouse.

The above problem occurs when using X4.10 regardless of the kernel
I am using, be it 2.4.3, .4.5, .4.6, or .4.7

This is not a system breaking problem and thankfully I do not reboot
often, maybe once every couple of days, to check in on another OS but it is
aggravating.
