I have found following problems with Mandrake 8.1 beta 1
1) While starting KDE-applications, menus didn't contain links for
applications. (There were links for documents, and things like "run
command")
2 Mandrake RPM-update tool did not work for installing packages
afterwards from the CD.
- I can select applications I want to install from the tree
- After pressing install button, selected items will disapperar
from the tree
--> Applications selected are however not installed
3) I could not KPPP to work
- I used first Gnome PPP-dialer but could not configure
dial-script correctly so I stopped it
- I started KPPP
- Got message that /dev/modem is not configured
- Changed to root-user
- Started KPPP again
- Got message that another application is already using modem
