There's other way like the demon who create the devices each time.
You put it in /etc/init.d/ , make the symlink  for your runlevel and it's all
right.
make a rpm for that may be easy ( create automaticaly the symlinks for
runlevel 3 and runlevel 5 ).
don't remember the name of the person who make this script. I look for that
in the ML archive.
