After I resized the partitions on the hdb with harddrake (yes, it has worked!) I could not boot - BootMagic lost Linux and PartitionMagic showed just a single large partition instead of three. It turned out, diskdrake silently changed partition typoe Extended (5) into Linux Extended (85). This is not understood by PartitionMagic (and I guess by most Windows tools as well).
