[Cooker] What is the point of having frame buffer drivers as module?

I tried to use rivafb for my GF2MX card. I could not figured out how to
do it. On startup kernel probes only compiled-in modules; there seems to
be no way a module could be used for frame buffer console.

Anybody has an idea?
