Hi,

        I was trying to build glibc-2.2.4-2mdk, and found that building
process stopped somewhere in between. Such a file is found in building dir:

-rw-r--r--    1 maddog   maddog   2147483691 Aug 29 19:03 build-i686-linux/ld.mapT

        That seems absurd. Here is part of the building log:

================================
( echo 'sysd-versions-subdirs = csu assert ctype locale intl catgets
[......]
) > /home/maddog/devel/BUILD/glibc-2.2.4/build-i686-linux/sysd-versionsT
gawk: scripts/versions.awk:112: (FILENAME=- FNR=1670) fatal: attempt to access feld

make: *** [all] Error 2

        The reason I think gawk is related is because I found similar
behavior when building links; it also generates infinitely large file
until file size limit approaches. And during the building process, gawk
occupies almost 100% of CPU for a long time. I'll try to reproduce the
exact error from building links-0.96-3mdk very soon.

PS gcc-2.96-0.61mdk is used as compiler.
