I am having major problems with fonts in GTK+ and GNOME applications.
When I bring up the font selector, it shows the little * next to the
majority of the fonts. I believe this means that there is a problem with
the font and it may not display correctly.

So I decided to do a system reinstall to see if this would fix things
and it did not.

Even the fonts that you would normally expect to "just work" don't work
right. For example, start up gfontsel and select helvetica (adobe). All
the font sizes have * by them and at the bottom it reads "This is a
2-byte font and may not be displayed correctly".

That is the default font (I believe) and I have been using it forever.
Until I started using Cooker (full install) things worked fine.

Is anyone working on this? I know that others on the Evolution mailing
list are reporting errors as well.

Thanks.
