Hi there,
during the installation, if you choose to configure your proxies, 2 files
will be created: /etc/profile.d/proxy.{sh,csh} in order to set the
ftp_proxy and http_proxy variables.
These variables will be useful for the applications that are designed to
use them. (what a profound sentence ;) Links and lynx use these variables,
for example. See the man pages.
For other browsers you can use squid [ +squidGuard | +sleezeball ].
Check http://perso.mandrakesoft.com/~florin for a sample configuration
file.
