I think that you might be using another angle of view than I do.
First, the bootdisk is OK => that initrd and the db of the computer used is
OK.
Second,then there is no apperant need to run HardDrake and Kudzu again.
Third, if you write to the hard drive first and the bootdisk secondly then
you may even check if they are a copy of each other.
I use a via-rhine, PCI, card and in our earlier posting it is clear that it
is in the initrd on the bootdisk but not on the hard drive. If kudzu is going
to do a good job it must even test for possible PNP ISA cards, and might as I
have written in other mails corrupt the sound setting to include ALSA.
I have done one installation a day for at least three months and this is a
problem that occurred around the devfsd, not before.
