Well, beta3 was put together far better than 2.
Mandrake-release-8.1-0.6mdk (if mem serves) was a prob for it in
depslist mismatch or something. Thanks till and others for fixing
printer troubles i had, although i am fairly sure it was simply part of
the updated driver package in there somewhere. Still, you updated it
:). Hey Vignaud, I dunno know how, but my isapnp sb card is finally
detected and configured in the installer, thanks. Or so it seems, I
have yet to listen to any pink floyd with it. But I did get a loading
module for it on first boot which is new. Sympa: sympa.pl cant find MD5
in @INC. DrakGateway...hmm, interesting...
Well let's see. Pixel: I had a prob at end of installer where i could
not do a clean reboot. Got to that last dialog, removed boot media,
clicked okay, dialog left, and the XFree86 from testing settings was of
course defunct, tried to kill, couldn't get out of anything for the life
of me, tried to umount myself so i could do a harder reboot, couldn't
umount, gave up and rebooted. I dont recall if this is even supposed to
work on XFree86_FBDev, but ctrl-alt-backspace didnt kill the drakx X. I
did something (init 6 maybe?) that got the sending signal...install
succeeded messages etc. but it still didnt reboot and the drakx X was
still there...
Um...so much more i had to report on but i cant seem to remember. I
have not yet attached any ddebugs or report.bugs or anything.
Still the same old issues with iso install. During diskdrake you must
remember to specify NO MOUNTPOINT for the part with the iso on it for
hd.img install, and on some sys' like the retarded acer on my left. If
you leave it as it loads, with a mountpoint in there, it will complain
to you get rid of it. If you do so, and you are in hd.img, you can
specify all the cd 2 packages you want but you wont get any. Why not?
It doesnt bother to switch mediums properly and look for that other iso.
If you want clarification on what i refer to, do an hd install from
*iso* files and look at tty3 or report.bug and when it switch to medium
2, all packages are claimed to be bad and cant install etc.
Um...why was gpm unselected defaultly at services? did guran have
something to do with this or did i totally miss something (havent paid
too much attn to the lists these days)?
STOP MAKING ME HUNGRY WITH THE DARN PICS (and tempting me to grab some
alkee hall).
What is this bible quotation from genesis that i see? It is in french
and guess what, im too ignorant to figure out much beyond what it is
sort of and the word Abraham. Somewhat of a change from "Drinking two
raw eggs a day builds a man!"
Hmm...I'm off to fix hpoj on another machine.
C'ya, Blue
Oh yeah, why is it that sometimes (not all the time) i cant deselect the
aurora-newstyle-categorizing even with the traditional-wslib selected
because it wants to uninstall it all then? The problem comes and goes
and apparently deps on what install method i use (guessing).
Oh yeah, why must i keep getting these annoying "invalid icmp error"
messages? Unrelated, but I selected low msec, and i get all upset that
i no longer have lovely little annoying syslog msgs in my tty12. ;(
Whatever, it's all gravy.
