It's back...
So I go out, buy 2 nics and some cat5, run drakgw on this machine (that
i use now), everything seems okay. The other machine disagrees. It
says that no link found, check cable. cable is fine, this machine shows
nothing to indicate a problem of any kind, successfully pinged eth1's
(the card with the cable to the other machine) ip address for no reason
at all, that kinda thing. Both are on 24, so i dont bother with
ipchains. All this though is irrelevant for now.
I decide 'what better time to upgrade from beta1 to beta3 on this
machine' (referring to the acer, which is not this machine but rather
the other). I skipped beta2 for obvious reasons on that machine.
anyway, here comes the relevant stuff. it is this acer k6-233 with 48M
of ram. I do vgalo cdrom.img install, which works with beta1. It
complained of low resources, but got through it. While beta1 goes
through fine, beta3 crashes. after partition formatting (just as it
attempts to enter choose packages), it complains of install failing as
it seems like memory missing. This sux. It is beta3 like I said, and
while Pixel's re-upload solved the last time, that is obviously not the
solution since it worked fine on this machine. Yes, the acer is evil,
and yes, i insist on doing a graphical install despite lack of ram. And
yes, I would like it fixed :). No report.bug, as the perl cant locate
Data/Dumper.pm in @INC when i attempt to 'bug'. sorry.

Happy hunting!
