A friend is tyring to install Mandsrake 8.1b3 on a new Compaq laptop. After getting past some USB detection hangups in the install phase (basically, he hacked the install images -first and second stage - and removed the USB modules so they would not load), he is stymied by the ethernet and modem configuration. Anyone with any experience with these two particular devices? My suggestion to him was to take the easy way out and buy a PCMCIA combo card that was supported. 8) Any info from this computer that would help cooker/beta3? Thanks, Hoyt
