Upgrade of 8.1 Beta3 to RC1. When creating a boot disk during installation the default location is sda instead of Fd0, in my case sda is a usb zip drive. When this errors I can then select to have it created in First floppy drive. This system has 3 hds, hde, hdf, and hdg and I use SysCommand to boot. hde10 is 23mb Ext3 /boot and hdg is 12gb mandrake also Ext3 Installing bootloader fails, reading hde10 as vfat. This same error occurs if I try to configure Lilo after boot. I can not verify partition structure using diskdrake because it errors with modprobe: can't locate floppy module, but SysComand still shows the partition as being Ext2 as it should (it can not differentiate between Ext2&3 and reads both as Ext2) and it has not been a problem with any of the betas. I ended up installig lilo in my RH /home and seting that partition as bootable in SysCommand. When configuring X installation if I choose to test the settings I get Invaild sync errors. This also occurs if I manually enter the settings. If I sinply accept the settings without testing, when booting X has no problem.
