Very nice install, fault-free (nice to have a bootable floppy!) except for
failure to install printer - couldn't even do it from mcc after reboot -
but afterwards...
I would strongly advise you to get rid of that first-time configurator -
it's really worse than useless. It started well, then said I needed root
password to continue and displayed a kdesu box that refused keyboard focus
in the text edit control. So I hit Cancel, at which the screen went mad,
with wizards all over the place and kicker right in the vertical centre of
the screen.
I'll have another look tomorrow - right now I'm enjoying KDE221 on my 8.0
box - built from tarballs in about 8 hours - here the KDE Desktop Settings
Wizard kpersonalizer works well. Why does Mandrake want to reinvent the
wheel? Especially if you make such a mess of it. Surely there are more
important things for you to be doing?
