It works *right* International keyboard has dead keys enabled to allow
input of international characters (if it does not work in X it is a
bug). If you do not need them select American/US (or is it English/US)
keyboard layout. It the same as in Microsoft BTW and I personally use
international layout every day (to input German umlauts e.g.).
