Hi

I still have the following in syslog:
Sep 23 04:53:00 Archimedes init: Entering runlevel: 3
Sep 23 04:53:01 Archimedes harddrake: succeeded
Sep 23 04:53:38 Archimedes kudzu: failed
Sep 23 04:53:38 Archimedes kudzu: Hardware configuration timed out.
Sep 23 04:53:38 Archimedes kudzu: Run '/usr/sbin/kudzu' from the command line
to re-detect.
Sep 23 04:53:38 Archimedes network: Setting network parameters: succeeded

I think I might have a test proposal to see if it might be reproduced. I have
a motherboard with an AGP slot, but I didn't have enough money to buy a new
graphic card when updating, so I am using an old NVIDIA PCI one. When I boot
from the bootdisk, the screen gets completely black, when kudzu jumps in, and
later comes back, and starts to write at the right position. This might
indicate that kudzu can't conclude that the AGP slot is empty and tries to
use it.

This might be reproduced if the same set up is configured.

regards
guran
