Indeed. It is trying to provide behaviour that a windows users
expects. But since I understood the power off manual mounting I
started disliking the behaviour in windows. I disabled it as much a
possible. But still windows just stalls for half a minute to look at
the cdrom because I wanted to see the root dir. I _hate_ that.
A much more logic way to proceed is to make a small script controlled
by an icon that mounts and unmounts manually. Make the cdrom user-
mountable by default. No harm done for a desktop system I suppose. You
can still disable it for higher securitty levels.
Let the newbies experience what linux is about. No need to pamper them :)
