Please consider making a 2.4.10 or later kernel RPM (with pre-emption patches) available as an update Real Soon.
I ask for an 8.1 update rather than just relying on Cooker because Cooker has a bad habit of progressing while one's back is turned, often far enough that one needs a whole passel of RPMs to make anything from it work on the last stable release. I for one will be among the first to download such an update. Kernel pre-emption makes the system noticeably more responsive, and 2.4.10's VM improvements are pretty stark too. If you guys managed to iron out all of the big bloopers from RC1 before Final, I'll be officially awestruck and flabbergasted. The Linux world is moving so fast that to deliver a stable collection of software from it is very much akin to successfully running a courier service using only jet aircraft for delivery. Cheers;
