Not sure: boot-cdrom loads a virtual filesystem. You'll have to read data 
from real rpm database (not virtual one), and install file on hd (not on 
virtual filesystem). This is possible, as the installer does it, but this 
implies two indirections.
Moreover, you must have an installed rpm version format matching the one from 
cdrom, in case of database format change....
