I'm back for more improvements on this product:
I think Mandrake Linux rocks for the exception of one
thing, security.
Mandrake linux is inherantly insecure since all
services, and ports known to man are enabled by
default. I propose that all services that the average
person does not use, be disabled by default as oppose
to spending a half hour disabling all the ports.
I think we should take a page from Turbolinux
distribution, from the get go, less than 10 services
are enabled.
For example who use the Gold Leaf license manager, the
pay-per-view service? I'm sure not many people and i'm
willing to wager less than 2% of the people out there
actually need all these services enabled. I keep
looking at my /etc/services file and i put my head
down in dismay wondering why in SAMHILL would you want
to enable all these services default in an age of
WORMS, virus, cyberattacks, etc ..... You get my
point!
So lets disable the services that people dont need, I
really only need less than 10 services as oppose to
more than 100 services that are enabled by default.
