OK - fixed it. You were right Mike - works fine in blackbox, gnome, etc. In KDE it's like I described it unless you start the command with artsdsp. xmovie is worse - you have to `killall artsd;xmovie;artsd&`. -- Peter Ruskin, Wrexham, Wales.
