hum I do it from cooker without pb. I upgrade since I install 8.0. With rpmdrake take the rpm from the source ( updates or special mdkonline source ) and do the upgrade is a piece of cake. Of course packaging must be done well. As there always have packages for earlier version ( again as for kde 2.2.1 ), add them in these special source will avoid many pbs ( where to take the packages, where are the i18n-fr, dependancies pbs, --force --nodeps, how do i install them ).
