I think you have the same problem I encountered a few times. First go to View/Background Color and change it a little bit gray and see if your labels show up. They are probably White. If so then go to Settings/Configure Konqueror. Then in File Manager in the Appearance tab, look at the 'Normal Text Color'. It is probably Black, but I don't know why it isn't being used. I just selected a lighter color and then reselected the black and clicked 'apply' then 'ok' and got back out and everything was fine. This has happened to me twice so I have it down pat now.
