        that is strange.

1- kdb is supposed not to be active by default, at least that you
   recompile your kernel and you choice to have it.  (Found the
   problem, fixed for now on).
2- we are supposed to not have bugs, if your bug is reproducible,
   (as it appears to be), pleas type at the kdb prompt:
   kdb> bt
   (i.e. only the "bt" part), and send me the output of that command
   please, it don't fail here :(  I know that if you don't have a
   serial console, you will need to copy the thing by hand ;(

Blinks of the keyboard is to show you that you are at kdb.
