After all the complaints about bugzilla I thought it was time to suggest an alternative: One that is very basic but also quite functional.
Lets give it a try. Its not complete yet. On the server side gnats is needed to make a database of all reported bugs. Sendbug is the client-side. I ripped this software from OpenBSD were it performs excellent. http://www.xs4all.nl/~hanb/software/sendbug-3.97-1mdk.src.rpm Name : sendbug Relocations: (not relocateable) Version : 3.97 Vendor: MandrakeSoft Release : 1mdk Build Date: Mon 29 Oct 2001 14:14:13 GMT Install date: Mon 29 Oct 2001 14:15:54 GMT Build Host: bereboot.boetes.penguinpowered.com Group : System/Base Source RPM: sendbug-3.97-1mdk.src.rpm Size : 17135 License: BSD Packager : Han Boetes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> URL : http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/gnu/usr.bin/sendbug/ Summary : Sendbug is the bsd tool to report bugs Description : sendbug is a tool used to submit problem reports (PRs) to a central support site. sendbug invokes an editor on a problem report template (after trying to fill in some fields with reasonable default values). When you exit the editor, sendbug sends the completed form to the Problem Report Management System GNATS) at a central support site. At the support site, the PR is assigned a unique number and is stored in the GNATS database according to its category and submitter-id. GNATS automatically replies with an acknowledgement, citing the category and the PR number Cya, Han.
