Hi,

This is ot I know, but..., I'm having problems ripping some audio, it's so
damn slow!!! The last time I did this (I think it was under windows) I could
at least rip at 8X (SCSI), now it's at 1,5X maximum (cdparanoia with some
switches). I have tested with SCSI and 3 different IDE CDROMS, one IDE CDROM
is brand new. This is very disappointing for a former musician and pro sound
technician...

Testbed1 (SCSI): Adaptec 2940UW+TEAC CD-532S
Testbed2 (IDE, second channel): SONY CDU4811&CDU5221, SAMSUNG SCR-3231

Is there some magical hdparm and cdparanoia switches I don't know about? Or
is it the kernel?

Anyone feels like sharing experiences regarding this? I would appreciate it.
