True. But as long as we have many config files, we could keep our own database (configuration file) of MIME types and the programs which can handle the MIME types. Every time when a program is installed, it will be added to this configuration file. Then the altered information will be exported to all the programs which are supported (I assume that they all have some kind of configuration files, which we could modify). > But as menudrake there's maybe a way to have unified mime type.
